In 2022, the U.S. imported $948.1 billion more than it exported, which was one of the biggest trade deficits. Gas prices are still high, the price of milk and eggs has skyrocketed, and the price of life has become much higher with housing as well. The demand for employees is high, but the supply is very low. I think the economy right now is stagnant, which is good because it doesn't need to be getting much worse than it already is, but it's getting better, just very slowly. I was talking with my parents about the prices of things, and they told me when they bought their first house together that I was raised in, they bought it for $140,000, which was an absolute steal.
