NASPAA Competency 1: "To lead and manage in the public interest"

Please reflect upon your development in the above competency.Consider where you were within this skill set at the start of the MPA program, and where you feel that you are now as you complete the degree.The results from your 501/591survey will likely be helpful here.

Using at least two authors/theorists that you have read during your time in the program, and at least 1artifact (research paper, memo, PDF of a presentation, group paper, journal assignment, etc.) from any MPA course, please answer the following question:

If you had to self-assess your development within this competency, how would you characterize your growth over the course of your MPA degree? Identify relevant scholarship in the field that you have found particularly informative [i.e., at least 2 different theorists or authors that you have read in any MPA course], and attach as a file upload at least one artifact from any MPA course that you feel was either helpful in your development of this competency, or highlights particular development in this competency. Discuss how these 2 authors/theorists and this class artifact fit into your self-assessment.

Each competency essay should be approximately 750-1000 words (3-4 double-spaced pages), size 12 font, 1" margins all around.

The authors that I choose are Lee Bolman and Terry Deal , and Frederick taylor.
