Take a few moments to review and reflect on the following principles of labor and management. Then, in a substantive paragraph, describe what an appropriate balance between labor and management might look like, being as specific as possible and providing evidence or examples for your statements.

• Responsibilities of Management
  • Fair treatment and justice in the workplace
  • "When an employer demands something unethical or illegal from an employee, such as offering a bribe to a prospective customer or demanding sexual favors, the sins of cheating and immorality are compounded by the use of economic coercion" (McQuilkin and Copan, pages 450-451).
  • Just pay
  • Do not defraud, deceive, or be violent
• Responsibilities of Labor
  • Not to deceive or be violent
  • Honor their employers
  • Be patient and follow orders
  • "The worker who carelessly arrives late and wastes time with small talk, inattentive work, long breaks, or daydreaming is a thief" (McQuilkin and Copan, pages 450-451).
• Responsibilities of both Labor and Management
  • Both work for God
  • Both should work from the heart
