help write response to comment:One of estimators' biggest challenges is the material availability. Since covid, factories have shut down, and there has been a shortage of workers. There are supply chain issues where trade wars and rising fuel prices tend to disrupt supply chains. The demand for construction materials has increased because of the shift in spending and the strength of the economy. Also, inflation is an important factor in the quantity takeoff and pricing phases. Coordinating with subcontractors to obtain accurate information and ensuring that input lines up with the project plans is a problem. Bad communication between designers, estimators, and subcontractors lead to errors in the quantity takeoff process. During the process of the construction project changes in the plans can affect the takeoff negatively. Also, project plans that are incomplete and inaccurate, strains the accuracy of the project`s takeoff. Time constraints make it challenging to provide accurate quantity takeoffs. Having good takeoff software and takeoff tools are extremely beneficial. Building Information Modeling (BIM) provides a view of all component, allowing for accurate quantity takeoffs directly from the model. Using digital blueprints and CAD allows for direct extraction of calculations and components, eliminating the need for manual tracing
