Henry Co. is a manufacture of supplement and healthcare products based on marine collagen and pearl located in Switzerland. Currently, the company has total 250 employees from administrative and production departments at the headquarter. A part of payroll process is done manually and the rest use computer (not integrated). The procedures of payroll for Henry Co. is as follows:

Each employee enter clock in and out time in a personal timecard daily. Every two weeks, all supervisors from productions departments , collects and calculate total work hours. They jot down a total hour work for each employee on two plies carbon paper of employee timesheet. Then the supervisors sign the timecard and then forward it, along with original employee timesheet to the payroll clerk. 2^nd ply of carbon paper is kept by the supervisors.

The payroll clerk, Mary validates the employees by checking the staff identification number (id) against the employee master file. If the master file for employee’s not available, Mary will request appointment letter for that employee from Sara, the Human Resource Manager.

Using computer, Mary updates employees master data and then prepares the payroll register. A copy of payroll register, timecards, employee timesheet and personnel appointment letter are filed in the payroll department by employees’ id. A second copy of the payroll register is sent to a general ledger clerk, who posts to the general cash account and salary expense account using computer.

Next, Mary manually prepares pay cheque and sends them to the cash disbursement department. These cheques are signed by the cash disbursement clerk, who then distributes the cheque to the employees.

3. The company plan to launch a new plant located at Australia in March 2022. The new plant will focus on production of royal honey product with 100 employees. For payroll, supervisor will collect employee timecards data and sent to the headquarter and payroll process handle by the headquarter. As for this extension, the company decides to implement fully integrate and online payroll processing system. Though this new system, the payroll will be paid directly to the employee’s bank account. Propose a system flowchart for this new payroll system.
