6. Fast Food: A fast-food restaurant estimates that the mean sodium content in one of its breakfast sandwiches is no more than 920 milligrams. A random sample of 44 breakfast sandwiches has a mean sodium content of 925 milligrams. Assume the population standard deviation is 18 milligrams. At = 0.10, do you have enough evidence to reject the restaurant's claim?
The claim is that in one of its breakfast sandwiches there is no more than 920 milligrams. This is a right-tailed test because the claim is less than or equal to 920, and the sample is 925. The critical value is 1.28, this is less than the test statistic z at 1.84. So we can say there is enough evidence to reject the restaurants claim. The screenshots of the week 6 calculator below are highlighted with were I input and gained information to answer the question completely. It was very helpful to follow along with the instructors first question video, as I was able to plug in my data right along with her.
HO= 920
HA= 925
Critical Right-Tailed Value = 1.28
Test Statistic z = 1.84
