Here we go with debits and credits! From now on, we will talk about accounting transactions in terms of debits and credits. The purpose of this discussion is to dispel some of the myths you may hold about debits and credits being good or bad as well as to learn the proper meanings of these words and how they work in accounting. We want to be sure everyone has a good understanding of debits and credits, since we will use them for the rest of the semester. Watch the debit and credit video and practice with the practice questions. Post your understanding of debits and credits in one paragraph. Choose two transactions, and state the debit and credit for the transaction. Once you have posted, you can read your classmates posts. Hopefully, when we are done, we will have a collection of common transactions and how they are recorded. In order to receive full credit (20 points) post meaningful contributions to at least three other students' answers. You can include whether you agree or disagree with his/her analysis or add a comment about a related transaction.
