Attended networking events and was absent for 8 days, registration, meals and accommodation for 4 days valued at $2500 was paid by his employer but Hermun paid the accommodation fee $600 and for meals (excluding the dinner for which he used his entertainment allowance) of $100 which were not paid by his employer. The following additional information has been provided:
- The tenanted property was listed for sale on 20 February and sold on 31 March 2021. It had been acquired on 1 July 2007 at a cost of $200,000. The property was tenanted from 1 August 2007. Proceeds of the sale were $724,200 and costs of sale were $14,200. From the proceeds of the sale Hermun has placed a deposit on two units at the coast with the sale expected to be completed on 15 August 2021.
- In addition to his salary Hermuns negotiated for his employer to provide a vehicle. The vehicle which cost $38,000 was available for use every day over the year and travelled 18,000 km of which 10,000 km was for business including to the conference. Operating costs including fuel were $14,400.
- Hermun received a gift from a new home owner of a wine and cheese basket valued at $250 and they also invited him and his family to their first BBQ at the home.
- Hermun and A+ Homes received an award from Building for Environmental Living for the layout and styling of one of the newest home designs. The prize consisted of Trophy for A+ Homes and an engraved vase for Bernie plus a two day, all expenses paid trip to Canberra valued at $1,500 plus the two tickets to the gala dinner to accept the prize valued at $500.
- As a consequence of winning the award A+ Homes gave Hermun a one week holiday to New Zealand for him and the family valued at $5,000 which they were able to take during the year when a travel bubble to New Zealand was created allowing international travel.
- For the makeover of the office area at the local animal shelter he received a voucher for free vet services for his new kitten for a year, estimated to be worth $500.
- Hermun is an Australian resident, married with two children.
