The link is 50km long and signals propagate at a speed of 2108m/s in the link. (i) Consider the case where sliding window flow control is used and there is no error in the transmission and acknowledgment process. If X has an initial window size of 12 , what is the average throughput in bps for the data payload? What is the average delay for sending the 10,000-byte messages? (ii) Consider the case where Stop-and-Wait Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) is used for error control with the link having a bit error rate (BER) of 1104. What is the average throughput in bps for the data payload? Calculate the average total delay incurred for sending one such message successfully from X to Y. For simplicity, you are to assume the last frame is padded to the maximum frame size. (15 Marks)
