Additional Information:
Land: On 1 August 2020 purchases a small land. There is no debt or financing to make this purchase
Plant and equipment: You have noted the following in relation to plant and equipment:
a. In September 2020 purchased $300,000 worth of plant and equipment, which was installed on the same day on new parcel of land purchased in August. This is the only purchase of plant and equipment in the year ended 30 June 2021.
b. On 10 October 2020 disposed of an item of plant which had cost the company $100,000. At the date of disposal, the accumulated depreciation on the item was $17,000. This was the only item of plant and equipment sold for the year ended 30 June 2021.
Accounts payable: includes amounts owing in relation to the purchase of plant and equipment of $96,000 as at 30 June 2020 and $108,000 as at 30 June 2021.
Long service leave: In January and February 2021, one of the staff took some of their long service leave, totalling $12,000.
Other Expenses: the following expense items are included within the total of 'Other' expenses:
a. $125,000 of expenditure on a new product being developed.
b. $60,000 relating to the impairment of brand names during the year ended 30 June 2021.
c. Any long service leave expense is included in 'Other' expenses.
d. Any other unpaid expenses are recognised in the 'Accrued liabilities' in the Draft Statement of financial position.
Accrued liabilities: includes interest payable of $4,400 as at 30 June 2020 and $5,800 as at 30 June 2021.
Dividends paid: During the year, dividends paid in cash to shareholders of $82,000 and dividends reinvested by shareholders of $60,000.
Income Tax: BB paid $78,000 in tax for the year.
While reviewing the accounting records, the depreciation expense for the year ended 30 June 2021 has been overstated by an amount of $27,000.
