image text in transcribed FINANCIAL FORECASTING Apply Principle 1 and Principle 2 to make Excel do as much of the work as possible. Worksheet format should be easy to understand. Do NOT round up or round down numbers in the middle of the working process. Link the related worksheets to directly obtain the numbers from prior steps. Report the major results, the explanations, interpretation, and discussions of the results, and your answers to the required questions should be written in a separate Word file with Font size 12 and double-space format. It is very important to show your detailed calculations/models in a single Excel file (with multiple worksheets). The Excel file will be used to check the formulas, models, and other working process. Excel file and Word file are both required. Do financial analysis for Home Depot, Inc. (Ticker : HD). A. To find the historical financial statements, use any financial website, and use the most recent 5 years financial statements of HOME DEPOT (HD). B. Use M.S. Excel TREND function to perform linear trend extrapolation for the sales of the firm in years 2017~2025. C. To determine the relationship between sales and inventory of the company, perform regression analysis. What is the interpretation of the regression results: t-statistics for coefficients, coefficients, R square adjusted, R square, and F statistics? D. To forecast 2017 financial statements, use percent of sales method (balance sheet, income statement) for the firm. E. ITERATION CALCULATIONS. Use iteration calculations in Excel to eliminate DFN in the pro forma balance sheet if DFN is not equal to 0. Assumption: If DFN is a deficit, we assume that 70% of the deficit amount will be raised using short-term debt and the other 30% will be raised using long-term debt. If DFN is a surplus, we assume that 70% of the surplus will be used to reduce the outstanding short-term debt and the other 30% will be used to reduce the outstanding long-term debt. You should set a dummy variable (0, 1) in Excel to control (disable/enable) the iterative calculations. F. Interpret / Summarize your findings and results. 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 1/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 2/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 3/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 4/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 5/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 6/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 7/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 8/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 9/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 10/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 11/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 12/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 13/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 14/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 15/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 16/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 17/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 18/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 19/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 20/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 21/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 22/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 23/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 24/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 25/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 26/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 27/28 10/20/2016 http://docplayer.net/16252164-Financial-forecasting.html PDF.js viewer 28/28
