Hi Class,
I think every company that would like to go public would like for things to look good. I think what may have an impact on going public would be the claim that Tammy made of sex discrimination against the company and to Fred. We can clearly defend that she was part of the company as someone who works a delivery person, and she did applied for the position and did not get based on hiring Ted who was a more qualified person. There was also the issue with Jane and how she forged checks, that we would have to possibly have to explain it that comes up.
In Chapter 41 of our reading, it brought out "The registration statement generally contains (1) a description of the securities offered for sale, (2) an explanation of how proceeds from the sale of securities will be used, (3) a description of the registrant's business and properties, (4) information about the management of the company, (5) a description of any pending lawsuits in which the registrants is involved, and (6) financial statements certified by an independent public accountant." (Kubasek et al., 2020, p. 967)
My advice would have been for Sally and Fred to wait until this issue is resolved and then go public. It appears that it may be to late for that because, it appears the cough syrup was featured on a talk show.
My recommendations would be for this all to get settled. As for the cough syrup ingredients to be check to make sure that it is indeed legal.
