Hi, I need help with the law, application and conclusion part of this question. Apparently, the law in this case is "past consideration"? I need help to elaborate on that. So, state the relevant legal principles, mainly from leading or precedence cases and /or common law if applicable.

I have highlighted what roughly needs to be done in the application area too. Help to reach a conclusion on what the court would decide would also be great. Thank you in advance.

O QUESTION 5 Chris goes out most Friday night and usually gets quite drunk. On one of these nights he gets in an argument with another bloke who says that Chris can't throw a rugby ball properly and trying to show off, Chris breaks a window at 2:30 am. The police arrest him, and he spends the night in jail. In the morning, he calls his friend Graeme and tells him the story and asks if Graeme can help. Graeme laughs at his friends situation, but says he is willing to come to the station and bail him out. Chris thanks him profusely and Graeme goes to the police station. He asksthe police if his friend can be released on bail, and they agree that if Graeme pays $1,000, they will release Chris until he needs to appear in court on the following Monday. Again Chris thanks his friend and tells Graeme that he will pay him back for any costs and inoonvenience caused. Unfortunately, Chris sleeps in and misses his court appearance on Monday. The police then tell Chris and Graeme they will not return the bail money. Chris has no money to pay Graeme and Graeme gets very angry. They have a big argument, and their friendship sours. Chris, who recently attended a LAW510 course argues that it wasn't his fault anyway as he felt under duress from the other guy. Chris never pays Graeme any money, so JGraeme wants to take legal action to get the money back. After an argument with another individual, Chris broke a window at 2:30 am. He was taken into custody. Chris approaches his friend Graeme and asks him if he would be willing to pay $1,000 to bail him out ofjail. This is on the condition that Chris attends court the following Monday. Chris misses his court date. Graeme's money will not be repaid bythe police, and Chris will not be able to repay him either. This en rages Graeme, who now demands payment. ISSUE: The issue in this case is whether or not past consideration was used when creating an agreement between Chris and Graeme. LAW: Past consideration APPLICATION: Apply the legal principles you have identied in the \"Lani" section above to the facts of the situation in the problem. You should determine which ofthe facts are similar to those in previous cases [i.e. within the ratio WM 3 previous decision) and which can be distinguished from previous cases due to differences in the facts, an \"obiter dicta\" from a real or constructed case is also helpful
