The US 2020 Census could have missed millions
Every ten years, the U.S. Constitution requires that every person be counted (regardless of citizenship status). The census information is then used to determine congressional representation and allocation of federal resources. The 2020 Census began on April 1, 2020 and was released in April 2021.
Historically, it has been difficult to get an accurate reading of some communities, especially communities of color. This census has created great concern that there would be a record number of people were missed due to both an aborted attempt by the Census Bureau to but a citizenship question on the Census and the continuing Covid19 epidemic. Finally, the change in government caused more changes to how census data will be disclosed.
