Hi! I need some help understanding a qPCR dataset.
So I tested a KO and WT group for Nampt gene expression. My supervisor told me that we would look at the "relative" values. So she made a standard curve from all samples by mixing equal amounts of each and then she diluted it.
She then took log to the amount and I am not sure why? What does log do in this context?
The CT values was used to get a mean ct, and the mean Ct and log amount was used to plot a standard curve. I am just not sure why log was needed.
We used the slope and y-axis to calculate the relative amount. The amount was a log amount, and we then used the command "potent" in excel. To delete log I guess? I am not sure how log works.
Hope somebody can help me!
Thanks a lot!
