hi, I really am have few questions in mind regarding how stats is shown in news, if someone can help me understand this article and evaluate it based off of my questions that would be appreciated.

News story title: "Global impact of the first year of COVID-19 vaccination: a mathematical modelling study"

the questions that I have are as followed:

1) does this main-stream news story (past or present) that contains a statistic based on an empirical study.

2) is it peer-reviewed scientific source that can be evaluated.

3) Now, look at the story carefully and trace the statistic back to its original, peer-reviewed source . my question is to quote the headline and summary of the news article.

4) Now consider the news story in the context of the original. Did the news story miss/add/change anything from the main article? For example, does the news author seem to be framing the result with a special agenda in mind, if so, what was it and how might it shape their interpretation? Or did they come to the same conclusion as the authors of the paper? Does it seem that the study result has been taken out of context? Does it imply an effect in humans when the original research work happened in mice or fruit flies? Using a bullet-pointed list, build a critical evaluation of the news story, using evidence from the research report to support your claims

5) Write a tweet that concisely states your view (i.e., summarizes your criticism;

6) i have already noticed and read the article and based off of my knowledge, the news channels do use stats to propel certain propaganda , I am shocked to notice these trends and want an experts view. am I overthinking it or should we check the news stats and the in depth study done behind these to understand reality?
