. For your annotated bibliography, you will begin to do some research on your topic for your formal research report and summarize three of the articles that you find. To obtain good research results, this topic needs to be very specific. 1. Do some research in the library databases and find at least three academic journal articles or news articles that relate to your topic. If you need help searching the databases, you can call, visit or message the librarians at NAIT for assistance. 2. Provide an APA reference entry for each of your three database articles. Under each reference, write a short summary of the article's content (two or three 3-5 sentence paragraphs that summarize the content in your own words, highlighting the main points; if desired, in the final paragraph you can include a quick evaluation of the usefulness and relevance of the source for your research project). Tips " Completing the attached "Summary Worksheet" for each article may be helpful to ensure that you understand the content and context of the article accurately. Remember that the entire summary should be in your own words - you do not want to receive a 0 for accidentally paraphrasing too closely. Choose articles to summarize that are substantial, fairly long, and interesting. A short, general news piece will not work well for this assignment. If the article is skimpy, your analysis will also be skimpy. Pay attention to how you structure the summary. The material you present needs to flow and make sense. You can find more information about what an annotated bibliography is by researching online or reading a short section in our textbook readings (Interchange Chapter 5). . You will use more than three sources in your reference list for your formal research report; however, in the interests of time, please only summarize three of these sources for this assignment. Formatting Upload a MS Word File. Single space the references and double space the summaries. Include a hanging indent on the references (if you need help, here's a hanging indent tutorial), but do not indent the paragraphs (leave an extra space between paragraphs).
