1. Daphne and Anthony compare their recent statistics quiz scores. They both received a score of 90. However, they are in different classes and their tests were slightly different. The mean score in Daphne's class was = 85 with a standard deviation of = 5. The mean in Anthony's class was = 83 with a standard deviation of = 8. The distribution of scores on each test was normal.

a) What proportion or percentage of students scored less than Daphne and less than Anthony in their respective classes? Show any calculations you made to determine this answer. (2 marks)

b) Who performed better on their statistics quiz, Daphne or Anthony? What evidence did you use to come to this conclusion? (2 marks)
