Overview:

The purpose of this assessment is to demonstrate the ability to communicate appropriately, effectively, and professionally in a job interview.

Due: Your individual interviews will take place prior to the end of the course. Please submit your questions to your instructor before class.

Grading: You will work together on the interview questions but will be graded individually for your interview. Each pair will receive the same grade for their interview questions. Grading criteria available on the rubric provided.

Tasks:

In groups, create a list of $5$ behaviour$-$descriptive questions and $3$ open questions that you will be asked relevant to the position described below:

Your organization is a busy resort$-$style hotel and spa that has been struggling with attracting more patrons. Your resort is $1\mathrm{.}5$ hours from Winnipeg and is a beautiful place to unwind, with gorgeous guest rooms and upscale suites. Natural scenery and a beautiful lake is right outside our facility; designed to put leisure and relaxation first. Activities at your resort include a spa, hiking and biking trails, a golf course, and a five$-$star restaurant. Your resort is a fantastic place for family vacations, a couples getaway, or a corporate retreat $365$ days a year with exciting summer and winter activities.

You have decided to hire a marketing manager to work with your small in$-$house marketing team of $4.$ Half your marketing team has been with the company for $5$ years and are within the age range of $45-50$ years of age. The other half of your marketing team are new to your company, the longest being $18$ months. This group of new employees' range in age from $22-30$ years of age. Your $4$ employees are ethnically, faith and gender diverse.

You are seeking to fill the role of marketing manager to work with your existing team for the purpose of improving your resort's overall sales.

Interview:

Your instructor will schedule you a Zoom interview for $15-20$ minutes.

Your instructor will ask you $4$ questions that you have prepared and $4$ questions that they have created and are relevant to the position.

Submission: Submit one set of interview questions per group. Your interview will be assessed by observation.
