how am i a good fit for a program that teaches advanced leadership. I am a pharmacist at a detention center. I oversee 2 technicians and 1 pharmacist. I chair the black commissioned corps advisory group (BCOAG) career and professional development committee. I volunteered to participate in the ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC) Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) development workgroup. This team of 4 individuals is responsible for implementing the MAT program through the entire agency. I continuously step out of my comfort zone, not because it feels good, but because I am a driven individual and I use the uncomfortableness to help make me a more well-rounded individual. In my daily work duties, in my collateral duties, in deployment, and in my personal life I believe that becoming a better leader will help propel me to the next level
