How can I respond to the following peer post?

The first question this week is what kind of business is perfect for direct store delivery. My brain initially goes to perishable items or items with a short shelf life. Taking a step out of the supply chain process can make these products last longer to avoid waste and increase profits. A manufacturer who practices the direct store delivery method is the Coca-cola company. There has been many times I have witnessed the coca-cola driver stocking up my local grocery store. I believe coca-cola is best suited for this model in 2022 because it has always been their model. It has worked for them and they have their own distributors. The need for a coke is not going away anytime soon. Coca-Cola's competitors also use the same process, Pepsi has their own distributors and deliver from manufacturer to retailer. No extra steps are cost affective and not every manufacturer can benefit from this distribution model.

The second question is what kind of retailer benefits from the milk run delivery method? Initially my thoughts are I have only seen milk delivered in old movies like 1950's and 1960's. It makes sense that pulling goods from multiple sources and directly delivering to a consumer is very convenient. A company that this type of method works best for in 2022 is a retailer who delivers local produce boxes that vary seasonally. When I was a young adult prior to joining the military I subscribed to a local weekly fruit and vegetable box. These fruits and vegetables were sourced from local farmers and it was amazing to have such a variety delivered straight to my door. Now, I live in Florida and I have not found a company that works like that here but I would love to try something like that again.
