How can I respond to this post?

Drug production, trafficking and consumption affects every country in the world. With the boarders becoming more secure, drug traffickers are becoming more creative with disguising drugs for transport. "The resilience of the global drug market has led to drug trafficking becoming the world's primary revenue source for organized crime and the illicit drug industry now accounts for an estimated $320 billion dollars annually" (The International Drug War). The case "Pizza Connection" received it's name because of the pizza shops used as front for drug trafficking and money laundering in New York. Gaetano Badalamenti, head of Sicilian Mafia, had major connections in Italy, Spain and the U.S. where he organized drug trafficking. Joe Pistone was the undercover FBI agent who informed the FBI of the multi-million dollar, and multi-player business. Badalamenti was arrest in Madrid, Spain, and roughly 30 mafia members were arrested in the United States with ties to the same business. During searches they found large amounts of cash, weapons, drugs and documents. Trial began in October 1985 and lasted 16 months, by the end of trail only 19 or the 22 defendants were still alive. The most influential evidence was the undercover agent working in the case, the surveillance, and the phone recordings, other hard evidence to include the drugs and money found during search warrants. "Over more than four years, the FBI and its partners gathered a mountain of records and evidence and utilized an array of investigative capabilities. They conducted surveillance on multiple players on multiple continents, sometimes around the clock. They traced and analyzed thousands of telephone calls, often from remote pay phones" (FBI, 2019). Investigators may handle the case different today because the relationships with other countries are well established so the investigation may not take as long as 4 years to gather evidence, especially with evolving of technology. Today an investigator may have more surveillance evidence available for presentation in court.

The purpose of this discussion was to provide a brief summary of the case and then discuss the case in terms of the documentation of evidence and the presentation of the case in court that you believe most influenced the decision in the case and why. How might an investigator being assigned this same case today handle it differently in terms of documentation or presentation of the case that may result in a different outcome?
