How can the below relate to this day in age? (Angela)
The resemblance between connectionist networks and the brain, and the fact that connectionist networks have been developed that can simulate normal cognitive functioning for processes such as language processing, memory, and cognitive development (Rogers & McClelland, 2004; Seidenberg & Zevin, 2006), many researchers believe that the idea that knowledge is represented by distributed activity holds great promise. The model helped explain the way I have to receive and output information to my participants daily. I must process how to change my vocabulary to address certain situations to the participant understands at their level, this is sometimes difficult for me to do and as often as that I must do it. I can sit and listen through the entire new monthly training that is mandatory, but I do not fully understand the training until I complete the tasks hands on. The information my brain is absorbing during the training is stored but is not distributed until I am physically completing the tasks.
