How did the Federal reserve Board work to minimize/avoid a recession based on the pandemic? Do you agree with their actions? What are the risks involved? Which of their tools did they use and are they still using them? How? Should policy be different now than it was at the beginning of the pandemic? Why?

(This is a big discussion, don't attempt to answer everything at once. Look up their meeting minutes here: https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases.htm(Links to an external site.) or the summary from Brookings is here: https://www.brookings.edu/research/fed-response-to-covid19/(Links to an external site.)

There is always a lot of commentary. I like https://www.themoneyillusion.com (Links to an external site.), but The Economist Magazine, Forbes, everyone has an opinion. :^)

Because I would love you all to being to read a lot of economics in the press and think about it I have another option for this Discussion. The is to find an opinion article concerning the FRB's response to the pandemic that you either agree with or disagree with and explain why. You can look either at past events/policy or the future policy based on forecasts.
