To test this, you can use chilled agar to lower temperature: chilled slabs of agar, laid over a worm, will cool part of the animal long enough to do the experiment. Work quickly: take readings immediately before and frequently after you place the agar. A thermocouple probe can be used to track temperature and record it in a separate channel. Arrange your setup so the probe tip lies flat under the agar, next to the worm. Connect it, via a "T-type pod" unit, to Input 1 or 2 on the Powerlab 26T. Remember to choose an appropriate sampling rate and range for this additional channel. You should be able to calculate any % change in conduction velocity from the data you collect, and to plot this against temperatures, over a range as the agar and worm warm up again to room temperature.
