What techniques do they utilize and how did their background influence their leadership attainment and success?

Choose an effective leader from a marginalized population (African-American, women, LGBTQ, Native American, etc…).

• How they became a leader (How did their marginalized status affect the attainment of the leadership position)
• Traits and aspects of the leader/leadership role (focus on the aspects discussed in the textbook chapters such as formal vs. informal, hierarchical vs. egalitarian, intergroup leadership, heterogeneous vs. homogeneous composition of the organization)
• Problems the leader still faces and how this impacts leadership opportunities for this marginalized population
