How do I answer to this ?

The main impetus behind our decision as employees to establish a union stems from our perception of gender inequality within the workplace. We possess evidence indicating that the company has exhibited a bias in favor of men, particularly in matters pertaining to wages, benefits, and working conditions. As a result, we have identified the following concerns.

Men holding equivalent positions are receiving higher pay compared to their female counterparts

The company consistently promotes men to managerial positions while neglecting equally qualified women

Pregnancy Discrimination and maternity leave issues; This company does not provide accommodations or support to pregnant employees including the limited access to paid maternity leave.

Employees have experienced threats from the employer upon learning of their efforts to organize a union. It is crucial to note that such actions are protected by the PRO Act, which safeguards our right to organize and bargain collectively.

These issues are significant concerns that have led us, the employees, to seek union representation. We believe that by forming a union, we can work together to address and rectify these inequalities, creating a fair and inclusive workplace for all.

There are a lot of benefits when it comes to joining a union. Becoming part of a union is only the beginning to a bigger change in the working enviroment. Some of the benefits that this union includes are negotiating for better pay and fair rights in the workplace, better working conditions, better pay, better and equal chances for both genders, and more. In this union we are working on getting a better working environment for people who work at target espeically for pregnant women, employees who have experienced threats or unsafe working conditions, and employees who are experiencing unfair chances in the workplace. We are coming together to bring fairness into this workplace, for both women and men to have a fair chance to move up the ladder in the workplace and with equal pay. Joining this union will help the employees overcome the obstacles they been facing and have a group of people to represent them and fight for them.

Target is a well-known company, loved and praised by customers worldwide. However, as an employer, not so much. Employees should be treated with equality and respect and Target has not been praised in this aspect of their business. As mentioned in a 2018 article by the Insider,

Target employees endure much more than rude customers. They deal with unfair treatment from the company itself. A few employees mentioned that they are overworked due to understaffing. This is not an issue that should be fixed by packing current employees down with loads of work to make up for the shortage of staff. The solution to this problem is staffing. Additionally, another issue stressed by current and former employees is favoritism among management. Bias, discrimination, and anything of that nature belongs nowhere in the workplace. Joining this union will guarantee that you will not have to endure these issues. You do not need to quit your job or suffer as an employee; we are here to make rules and make sure that everyone is treated equally and with respect in the workplace.
