Description: You are an inventor hired by developmental psychologists to create a resource that will benefit the cognitive, physical and/or socio-emotional development for EACH stage of life, as covered throughout this course. Part 1: Title Page (APA format) A catchy Store/Company name that encapsulates the products you invented (This will be the title of your assignment). Your name, Teacher's name, Course Code Part 2: Product Invention and Analysis Invent your products! You can use existing products and adapt and combine them to create your prototype. (Your resource does NOT need to be realistic, or affordable!) One original item that assists development in the stage of Conception and Prenatal Development One original item that assists development in the stage of Infancy One original item that assists development in the stage of Childhood One original item that assists development in the stage of Adolescence For each prototype you create, you must complete Parts A, B and C: Part A: Resource Description Name your product. Be creative! Identify which stage of development it is attached to. Include a visual of your prototype. This can be hand drawn, designed virtually, or you can display all the elements that make up the product. Example: The Mood Translator Blankie - Infant Stage of Development :D 'Sell' your product by answering the following questions: What does your product do? How does it work? What are the features? How much does it cost? You may wish to write this as a product description or an infomercial, but it must be persuasive ('selling the product) Part B: Course Connections (Minimum 1% page in length) Link your product to the course material that we have covered. Find a MINIMUM of 3 course connections (this can be theories or concepts) that we covered that directly relate to your product and complete the following steps: Step One: Clearly define and explain the course connection. (This is the information we covered in class - pretend that I know NOTHING about the course). -> Step Two: Clearly link the course connection to some parts of your product. This is where you explain how your product relates to the concept, and therefore will assist with development in this stage. (For example, "den Ouden's Trust vs Mistrust relates to the mood translating screen in the blanket because it....") Part C: Reflection of The Resource (Minimum 1/4 page in length) Why do you think this would be a good resource for this stage of development? Would you use it? Why or why not? (Do not be afraid to give your product a poor review - many products on the market have little to no value in terms of developmental growth!) Format: You can submit your work as a slideshow, video or a written document. If you choose the video, be sure to include a write-up of part B and C (your script in proper APA format) Part 3: Uploading Your Work Please upload your assignment to the Dropbox in the VLE. *You will have until 11:59PM on the due date to submit your work.*
