In this assignment, you are looking up research regarding the impact of culture or cultural or ethnicity or identity or values on ONE aspect of Sensation and Perception. Make sure it is about Sensation and Perception so you can use terms such as visual perception, visual size, illusion, auditory perception, music perception, tactile perception (haptic touch), gustation or taste, smell or olfaction - and this is not an all-inclusive list. Make sure that you find a cultural differences in your research.

Culture can influence a variety of steps in the perceptual process. It might influence what we attend to and therefore select for greater processing. After we select what we want to process, we must organize it in some way based on our mental schema of looking at the world. Then we interpret the information we receive (going back to recognition and action).

Start by looking up general findings online through Google (or preferred search engine). After you have found a topic that interests you, then take a closer look at the actual research study. Some of the discussions online are summaries about studies (which is fine, but you need to find the original one as well). Others are general comments that people make - so how true is this belief?

You are to use PsycINFO OR Google Scholar to find a peer reviewed study on a topic you found online.

1. What specific aspect of Sensation and Perception did you look for? Why did you decide to chose that topic? Give the link to the website where you found the information. Also write an APA reference for the website. Please note that this part is meant to be a general topic found OL - not a research study. The idea is looking at what is out there and and then in the next part seeing what research supports this idea. You can use something from the resources I have listed.
2. What research study did you find relating to that topic? Write an APA style reference and upload the article or include the link in the assignment folder. This should be a peer reviewed research article (not a blog, video, thesis or dissertation, etc.).
3. What groups did the researcher test? What did the researchers do? What did the researchers find? In other words, summarize the article (this should be more than just a rewording of the abstract). How does this relate to what was discussed in the website (from Q1)?
