How might you deal with a client who appears to be lying when you use the MI approach? Sometimes clients (especially adolescents) can be dramatic and exaggerate their responses, and the role of client involvement in MI makes this approach vulnerable to lying/exaggeration. The structure of the SoC model is more objective, and thus, less vulnerable to client dishonesty. Thoughts?
