Smith versus the securities and exchange commissions, more commonly known as the SEC. This case was decided by the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2015. It was reported in the Federal Reporter, Third Series, at page 755 of volume 799. The United States Supreme Court later denied certiorari in 2016. That denial was not yet reported in United States Reports but was reported in volume 136, page 1500 of the Supreme Court Reporter.
