How to reply to this post with a reference? I stand with you on GMO foods. As you were able to read in my post, I am able to see it firsthand from a chef perspective. The negative about being a chef is that you don't have to the luxury of seeing where your food is coming from and how it is being processed. You know in the back of your mind that the food you ordered was genetically enhanced. The only thing you can do is cook it properly. This been the name of the game for years. It has always been a concern. Now, it is more of a concern because of the way humanity is heading. I feel the biggest concern is what is the long-term effect of GMO. Not just for ourselves, but for our kids and their future offspring. "Genetically engineering foods is a relatively new practice, which means the long-term effects on safety are not yet clear"(Barrell para 10). "There is a small risk that GMO foods can trigger an allergic reaction, but this will only happen if the genetic change triggers the production of an allergen" (Barrell para 12). The first quote proves my point. We are playing with lives as scientist continue to enhance genetically. I just hope we get to a point where we can do it in a safe manner. Really good job on your post
