How to respond to the following DQ answer. Provide references
Something I read in one of the articles that I researched for this question stated that follower satisfaction is vital to organizational success (Duky, 2015). This couldn't be truer. No one stays with a leader or an organization if they are not satisfied or happy, they'll continue to look for other positions or companies to work for where they can become happier. When employees are happier, they tend to perform their daily tasks better, which in turn, assists the organization, giving them an advantage.
Servant leadership tends to be more prevalent in nonprofit and religious organizations, as these establishments are typically more accepting of servants as leaders (Carter, et al., 2014). One company that was discussed in a previous course I have taken was Southwest Airlines. Colleen Barrett, Southwest Airlines President stated, "Our entire philosophy of leadership is quite simple: treat your people right, and good things will happen (Creighton, 2018)." This company empowers its employees to take care of not only other employees, but the customers as well. For example, if a stranded customer needs a hotel room, staff are empowered to help them with lodging if they can. This is the type of servant leadership other companies should emulate.
