Alpha sells equipment and maintenance services to hospitals. During 2020 Alpha carried out the following transactions: 1. At the beginning of the year, buy equipment for 20,000 euros to be used in the manufacturing process. The equipment is paid in cash. 2. Obtain a bank loan for 100.000 euros in May 1st, interest and principal to be paid next period. The interest rate is 6% and is going to be paid next year in May 1st with the principal. 3. Pay salaries for 50.000 euros on cash. Social charges and fringe benefits for 10,000 will be paid next year. On November 1st sell medical equipment with a maintenance program included* to New Hope hospital for 190,000 euros. Receive half of the payment on cash and the other half is going to be received in 30 days. *Conditions of the sale: Usually McKesson sell the medical equipment and the maintenance program separately. The value of the medical equipment separately is 180.000 euros and the maintenance is 20,000 euros. However, in this case it sells both (the equipment and the service) for 190,000 euros. The maintenance contract starts on November 11, 2020 and finish on October 18 2021. The equipment is installed and starts operations in New Hope hospital on November 18 2020. Son On December 1st collect the 95,000 from New Hope Hospital. You would need to do the journal entries for points 1 to 5. Also, you are must do the adjustments for: 1. Depreciation of the car. The value of the car is 20,000 euros; the residual value is 2,000 euros and the economic life is 5 years. 2. Interest expense of the loan. 3.
