In your opinion, should the United States have another Constitutional Convention?

Looking back at the history of a Constitutional Convention, this first formal meeting occurred in 1787 and set the stage for the United States to become the Constitutional Republic it is today. A Constitutional Convention occurs with the goal of fixing the existing government and deciding how America is going to continue its governing. If a Constitutional Convention was to occur in modern-day, there would be responses like never seen before, and attempts to quickly establish orderly procedures on how the formation and operation of such a formal meeting will occur.

While many scholars and activists believe there shouldn't and should be another Constitutional Convention, I fall in the in-between. This is because many from across the political spectrum and society in general make valid arguments such as, a convention can help improve the flaws in our current constitution. Attempting to alter the Constitution, especially in modern-day society, one must follow Article V which states that a new amendment should be proposed by a two-thirds vote in both houses of Congress and ratified by three-fourths of state legislatures. Following the successful completion of these votes, the reconstructed amendment(s) would become a part of the United States Constitution. This process is extremely strict and makes it difficult for amendment enactment. This is because of the presence of biased favor of the federal government as they don't want an amendment that would limit powers to the national government. I fall in the in-between as I believe a Constitutional Convention could also lead to aid in the induction of corrupt and biased definitions of roles, powers, and structures of the different entities within a state. Overall, there has not been a Constitutional Convention since 1787, so we don't know what would entail especially since there are no orderly procedures in place that would explain the formation and operation of such an event.
