Content Area: Indicate here the content target of the assessment project (i.e. Math) | |
Grade Level Preschool |
STEP 1: Standard Analysis:
A.Standard Copy and paste the standard citation and standard you have chosen. |
B. PreviousKnowledge and/or Assumed Understandings Related to this Standard List the specific knowledge and/or skills needed or assumed BEFORE moving further. This may seem simple, but list everything this standard is assuming the learner already knows. |
C.Breakdown of standard into sub-targets or parts Sometimes standards are simple...others are very complex and compound. As much as possible, break the standard down into its smallest sub-standard parts. |
STEP 2: Create Learning Objectives
D.Lower-Level, Knowledge Level Objective | Using your breakdown of the sub-parts inSTEP 1C,develop a lower level learning objective. It does not need to cover every sub-standard target you discovered - but if it works, it is fine for your objective to cover more than one sub-standard component you identified. This objective should employ a verb at Bloom's "Knowledge" level. |
E. Performance Criteria/What will children actually do, know or demonstrate? | Using your lower-level knowledge objective inSTEP 2D,describe specifically what children will or will not know or be able to do based on your objective above. This will typically be a bulleted list of what a learner at this grade level will know or be able to doNOT a describing statement. |
F.Higher Level Objective | Draft a second objective using one or more of the sub-parts identified inSTEP 1C(you do not need to cover all in one objective). This objective should employ a verb at a higher Bloom's level if possible. If your chosen standard only lends itself to lower level targets, develop a second lower level objective and indicate it as such. |
G. Performance Criteria/What will children actually do, know or demonstrate? | Specifically describe what the higher-level objective will look like if a student knows or can do what you have stated in your objective inSTEP 2F.How will you know they know or can do it? What will it look like? This will typically be a descriptive statement of what an average learner at this age will do to meet this objective---it is NOT a list |
