Consider the following: "Extrinsic Rewards" are those that someone else gives to you (e.g. a merit bonus, a promotion, a good score on your performance appraisal, etc.). "Intrinsic Rewards" are those that you give to yourself (e.g. the satisfaction of knowing you did your best, the good feeling that comes with progress or the learning of something new).

After watching Pink's talk, please respond to the following questions

Q1. Dan Pink's contention about the application of extrinsic rewards hurting creativity is somewhat controversial. (Many believe that competition for rewards has quite a positive effect on creativity and productivity.) What is your opinion of Pink's contentions? Do you feel his contentions are valid? Invalid? Please explain why you feel they are valid or invalid?

Q2. Please comment regarding Pink's thoughts about "motivators" for today's age (He briefly discusses these at the end of his talk. For e.g. Autonomy)
