his week's topics go over real numbers and equations, and we're going to have a bit of fun this week. There are many tricks out there that use the properties of addition/subtraction/multiplication/division etc. Your first task this week is to find a "number trick" and recreate it here without explaining why it works (it can either be written instructions or a video of yourself telling what to do and what your "prediction" is for the answer!

The second part of the discussion will be for you to post a response to two of your peers about why it works, and the third post you'll do this week is to go back and respond to those that post on yours and let them know if they're right, and if not how it actually works.

Once again, this discussion has several parts - I'll be watching for all aspects to be addressed over the week. Please make sure you watch for those that post later so they get some responses too - I'd like everyone to get a chance to respond :)

Your tasks:

  1. answer the original prompt by Wednesday of this week, then
  2. respond to at least one of your peers with an explanation of how their trick works by Friday of this week then
  3. Respond back on your original post to those that respond by Tuesday of next week! Yes - it's a little longer of a discussion - so it'll be worth more points!
