DISCUSSION 2, Part 1

Your main discussion response should be a minimum of 200 words.

1) In the first paragraph, explain what information you found to be most interesting and why.

2) In the second paragraph, compare the video with your textbook and identify similarities or overlapping information. What information was included in both the video and the textbook? You should identify and describe at least three similarities. When referring to these topics in the textbook, you must include the page number.

Note: These must be specific overlapping topics, not general themes. It is NOT sufficient to say both sources cover the role of genetics in autism or that both explain the symptoms, broad characteristics, or spectrum of autism. There are several very specific overlapping topics to be identified.

3) In the third paragraph, identify differences between the textbook and information presented in the video. There are several topics where statistics or other information has changed due to updated research between 2014 (when the video was produced) and 2021 when the current textbook was published. You should identify and describe/explain at least three of thesespecific differences/discrepancies. This is NOT about information that's only in one source and not the other. You should still identify topics covered in both sources but those in which specific details have changed due to updated research.When referring to these topics in the textbook, you must include the page number.

4) Finally, describe any personal experience you have had with these topics. If you've had direct experience with someone on the autism spectrum, describe the behaviors or characteristics you observed that are consistent with autism.

If you've not had such experience, describe how this information might be useful or valuable to you in the future, either personally, professionally, or both.Be as specific as possible.
