I drive an air-taxi that takes people from one island to another. Passengers need to make reservations in advance. My vessel can carry 19 passengers. Based on my years of experience I know there is a 0.18 probability a passenger will not show up after making a reservation. When a passenger doesn't show up, a seat is wasted and I miss the chance to make more money. So I practice over-booking: for each trip. I allow 21 reservations.
