Hydrocarbons, and alkanes especially are responsible for many gases that get into our atmosphere. Carbon dioxide generated from combustion of octane (gas) and methane generated from livestock are two examples of real life applications that lead to these gases being formed.

On one hand, if we remove octane as an energy source, the cost of electricity and gas will rise. Plus the current state of renewable resources does not produce enough energy to account for the amount of energy needed in overpopulated regions, thus leading to rolling brownouts.

However, if we don't limit use of organic-based fuels we could over pollute our atmosphere.

Analyze this issue from multiple directions. What do you see as a solution to the amount of substances put into the atmosphere from organic compounds and substances.
