I am comparing 10 school districts that have a clear backpack policy to 10 that do not have a clear backpack policy.
I did an independent samples t-test. My professor told me to include the dependent variable, which is where I am stuck. Did I include the independent variable? Or am I missing it?
I wrote this as my results: For the 2021-2022 school year, there was no significant difference in the 10 school districts that did not implement a clear backpack policy sample (M = 5618.70, SD = 10466.394) and the 10 school districts that implemented a clear backpack policy (M =6604.30, SD = 15939.272), t (18) = -.163, p=.872.
For the 2022-2023, there was no significant difference in the 10 school districts that did not implement a clear backpack policy sample (M = 6097.80, SD = 11403.902) compared to the 10 school districts that implemented a clear backpack policy (M = 7601.50, SD = 18531.881), t (18) = -.219, p = .829.
