I am conducting this linear regression in SPSS Statistics and I am a little confused about the results. So, my dependent variable is EPI (Environmental Performance Index) and my independent variables are HMT (Heavy Metals), WMG (Waste Management), MSW (Controlled solid waste), REC (Recycling), WWT (Wastewater treatment), and UWD (Unsafe Drinking water). So, on the ANOVA table, I can see that heavy metals has a Beta coefficient of positive 0.090. If I understand it correctly, this means that as heavy metals increase, the environmental performance indicator increases as well but how could that be possible from an environmental point of view? Also, similar to this, as waste management increases, the environmental performance indicator increases as well.
