I am looking at this article:

Sim, T. W., Wong, K. L., Samsudin, A., & Bunn, T. (2015). Effectiveness of an early intervention programme for pre-school children at risk of dyslexia in Singapore. Asia Pacific Journal of Developmental Differences, 2(1), 27-37.

I wanted to understand the framework that is used in this study. Coughlan et al. (2007) provides a step-by-step guide about how to assess a quantitative research paper. They discuss the importance of a framework. However, they don't breakdown what that framework needs to consist of.

So, my question is, is the DAS EIP a theoretical or conceptual counselling framework used in Sim et al (2015), and how can you tell? What are the essential elements of a framework used in a quantitative study and can the EIP be considered a framework in this study?
