I am preparing a case study about Marbury v. Madison.

Madison, the newly appointed secretary of state, and Marbury, who was set to be nominated, were involved in the Marbury v. Madison lawsuit. In question was Marbury's lawsuit against Madison under Section 13 of the Judiciary Act of 1789. He claimed he was entitled to the position of Justice of the Peace and filed an injunction of mandamus to compel Madison to appoint him.
