I am working on my final paper in ACC310 Cost Accounting. The subject is: How does an operating budget work to discipline a firm's management? What are the elements of a budget? How are budgets constructed? What is "Variance Analysis" and how is it used?

The paper must reference 5 scholarly resources. The issue I am running into is finding scholarly resources to use in the paper. My search terms must be too general as I am getting a lot of unrelated articles. I just need a place to start.
