I am writing a paper for General Physics. One prompt is:

Given: An object is moving at a constant velocity. Then the object is acted on by a centripetal force.

draw a vector representation of the object's trajectory before the centripetal force

velocity before the centripetal force

and trajectory, velocity and acceleration after the centripetal force acts on it.

how can I show the trajectory of the object using vectors? isn't its trajectory a straigh-line before the centripetal force?

I am planning to draw a free body diagram for the constant velocity. But I am not sure about the trajectory.
