I am writing a research paper and my topic is capital punishment. My research question is "Does the imposition of the death penalty diminish the rate of criminal activity?"

I am required to "determine the location, population, and sample size for your paper. Determine how you would obtain the data for your proposal. Sample size must be 10 or more, select a location, and the time period must be one year. You must also select the type of sampling. Sampling examples are-random sampling, snowball, stratified, simple random sampling. You can obtain your data by a survey or available data from a state, local, or federal agency."

EXAMPLE: Topic: Domestic Violence among police officers. Data: In this study the population of 1000 and sample size of 100 incidents of domestic violence will be collected from the city of Miami Gardens Police department from January 1, 2018 thru December 31, 2018. (A random sample of 100 incident of domestic violence will be selected as the sample population). Explain the define the sampling-(Examples : random sample, simple random, or stratified sample) selected.

I would like to know which type of sampling would be most appropriate for my paper. I would also like help in finding an ideal article, cite, website, etc. that demonstrates any location, population, and sample size.
