I believe that communication is a very important part of command and control. Without the communication part of command and control there is no forward movement. When commanders express their intent, it makes it easier for subordinate leaders to provide purpose, direction, and motivation. According to ADP 6-0, the Commander is the focal point of command and control and assesses the situation at hand and provides their perspective of the operation at hand. With effective communication, subordinates have optimal time to prepare and adjust to events especially in a high tempo environment
