I believe that people have heard of SOX and it has increased their confidence because they believe someone is now watching the corporations. Int heir 20-20 hindsight, many economists are now saying that SOX is the main cause of our recent economic woes. They believe that the current laws just needed to be enforced and that we did not need all of these new regulations which were an over reaction to scandals such as Enron and WorldCom.
